Another exciting week and we are only half way through...
Tuesday saw another early start and a drive up to Basingstoke College of Technology for a Makeup Demonstration for the BTEC Nat Dip Students to inspire them for their annual competition in a couple of weeks. They will have an hour to complete a full makeup look themed 'Fantasty' for one category or 'Movie Stars' for another. I chose to recreate actress Anne Hathaways look for the new Tim Burton film Alice in Wonderland! (as this is both Fantasy and Movies and wouldn't take very long!) I used the following...
Dermalogicas Redness Relief moisturiser mixed with Active Moist moisturiser as my young fair blonde model had a slight pink to her skin, this paled her up in a way.
Daniel Sandler Retexturing Face Primer to smooth pores and take away shine
Daniel Sandler Perfect Canvas shade 01- nice and pale!
Daniel Sandler Hide it Eye Concealer 01
Daniel Sandler Blotting Powder- completely colour free
Daniel Sandler Mineral Matte Blush in Natural Beauty- under cheek bones to contour then no other colour blusher
Daniel Sandler Pink Bisque Matte Shadow all over eyes from the base of the lashes up to the brows, Tornado in the socket and no eyeliner
Daniel Sandler Silver Eye Delight over the lid and Ice under the brows (that were Matte Shadow Dark Brown!)
Jumbo Jet Black Mascara bottom and top lashes and Mister Mascara lashes, the ones with gems on that Daniel gave me at Instyle, ta muchly, they looked amazing on this model.
Then Daniel Sandler Micro Berry lipstick with red glitter pressed over the top for a twist on how the original image looked!
Yesterday was a late one at Essensuals Bournemouth helping the stylists and colour techs with their entries for the L'Oreal Colour Competition. Deadline is a few days, both the models looked wkd but I'm not going to spill the beans on the looks but credits to the whole team as styling, models and photography was great...
And I think Listed magazine is out now! Covering Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch for one edition and Winchester, Southampton and Fareham for another. I wrote the Hair, Health and Beauty page and haven't seen it yet!!!! and I have to finish Aprils content by the 1st of March!!!
More news coming when I've got it...Bye! xx

Bridal Photoshoot
Heya Guys!
It's been a really long, exhausting day today! But so much fun all the same...
It started at Rownhams House in Southampton at 8am! Rownhams is a very large country house owner by Roger and Penny and they have just converted The Old Coach House to a new wedding venue! This was the perfect opportunity to create a photoshoot with a bridal theme. I worked with Claire Alker- freelance hairstylist, Gorgeous Gowns of Romsey-for dresses, 2 models-Sam and Maria and 2 photographers-Samantha Davis and Nigel Bailey. Big thanks to everyone for making the day such a success. I cannot wait to see the final pictures!
The models were shivering and turning blue with the cold February rain! The Gorgeous Gown ladies suffered pin stabs when pinning the girls up! Claire was keeping a clear head and had fantastic biro scribbles of hair ideas and assistants were rushing around the whole time, it was such a grey day we were trying to keep with as much daylight as possible, (but just about wrapped it up at 6pm!) I've got a good feeling about this one...keep watching for images updated to my website and I'm editing my video tutorials too so not much longer now!

Balloons are still up, thanx Hullaballoon and we sabotaged everyones new year resloution of being healthy with amazing cupcakes, thanx Bagel Haven! Thanks everyone involved for help, support and attending! We hope to plan an another event in a few months time.
Next, on the 25th, I went up to London and helped Mr Daniel Sandler with prepping the loverly team of Instyle magazine gals for their beauty awards. This was held at the Berkley Hotel in Knightsbridge and a very glam event hosted by Claudia Winkleman. I prepped, moisturised, did foundation, cleaned brushes, got fake lashes out the boxes and was on standby with tissues and cotton buds. I love doing assisting jobs, it's great to be part of events and I don't think I'll get tired of the variety in my makeup jobs and the salon. I'm gonna enjoy blogging about all my experiences...

Minx Nails!!!
Hello Everyone!
Yesterday me and Carly took a trip to the Creative Nail Academy to stock up on new items for the salon...Minx Nails! This is one of the newest crazes to hit the U.K in terms of Beauty Treatments. It seems to have happened overnight..... but it's come from the U.S, quirky chrome, metallic and patterned nail art as seen on the finger tips of Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Katy Perry to name but 3!
The Minx Armour is like a sticky transfer the covers the whole of your nail, set with an infra red heat lamp and filed to seal across your free edge. I applied a cream and chrome square pattern to Carly and for myself I chose gold and silver lepoard print design. We are testing the wear, but so far I've worked the rest of yesterday at the salon, washed up, had two showers, (they are water proof like polish but excessive heat can damage them and i like my showers hot!!!) typed and emailed and sanded down an A board and they still look fresh. Impressed so far.
We are offering a good discount at the salon for the next few new clients wanting this treatment, whilst we pick up our speed and hone our technique 01202 553400 and we can Minx your toes too!
