Launch and Shortlisted for National Award

I love these pictures by Samantha Davis Photography which show Sodas launch party in all it's glory!!! Thanks to everyone that came especially Daniel Sandler pictured doing all the work! and thanks to all the loverly publications that reported the event as a success! We went over to the Studio, next to Priva for a few cocktails afterwards and had a great time!

More exciting news follows now as I've just been shortlisted for a national award! The Professional Beauty Awards are the oscars of the beauty world and earlier in the year I entered the 'Makeup Specialist of the Year' category and made the final 5! I had to go to central London for a trade test and interview with top beauty professionals and Professional Beauty editor Eve Oxberry. It was an exciting day and we won't find out the result until the end of February at the Gala Dinner and Award Ceremony...I know an Awards Ceremony! I feel as if I've won already!

I'm very pleased to say I finally have a base again! And I'm very pleased with the whole salon! If you are looking for us we are in Bournemouth town about 5 minutes walk up the hill from where new Primark is going to be!

There is a pay and display car park opposite but as I said a short walk up from Primark...

-Primark is on your left and M&S on your right as you walk up the hill (commercial road)
-when you get to the top of the pedestrianised bit cross the triangle is to your right so take the fork up your hill to the left, cross over the road so you are walking up the left. You will walk past the Branksome Pub on your left an then just before you cross the road to the public loos (these are on your left- Pinoccios Restaurant over the road on your right) look to your left and you will see us across the road! We are to the left of the Old Kodak shop! But call us if you get lost! 01202 553400.

Am very pleased to say Daniel Sandler will be joining us for the launch party! A private in salon event, Friday the 15th of October from 6pm. This part is ticketed (only got a small shop!) but ticket price is redeemable on purchases on the night! Then the Studio next to Priva are doing us 2 for 1 cocktails after from 8pm, just round the corner! Let me know if you want a ticket!

My New Salon!!!

Hello Everyone!

Sorry it's been such a long time again since I've updated. I've been battling with bt to keep my 01202 553400 number (long story and if you want to get in touch it's best on my email zoe.nichols@danielsandler.com as the new salon is full of builders!)

This is the new salon, my 1st premises, sorry for the wait- but you gotta make sure the lease is 100% done properly! Many thanks to Graeme Quar of Quar and Co. for doing such a thorough job. This is what things look like at the mo, an empty shell soon to be:

Going to be a busy little bee! I've got local man Mike Planner and his motley crew in to create me two new rooms, wire in all my lights, put down the flooring and plumb in my washpoint!!!! Fingers crossed no major disasters will prevent me opening the doors on Tuesday the 5th of October with a big launch party to follow.

You can expect to see me doing my fave things- Makeup- using Daniel Sandler Makeup as normal but now I have the opportunity to include a selection of the range in salon from a stand with the best sellers to buy and take away-there and then! Lashes- using Eylure for strip lashes and Nouveau for semi permanent silk lashes and Spray Tanning using classic Fake Bake!

You can expect a nail technician offering a range on enhancements and manicures and pedicures using the extensive Nails Inc colour collection!

You can expect a therapist for your waxing, massage and Dermalogica Skincare.

And you can expect hair stylists offering beautiful blow dries and dry styling with GHD stylers and styling products.

I hope Soda to be a refreshing change from other hair and beauty salons and hope to see you all soon! I'll update with new pics as I get them!

Moving on from Essensuals...

I have enjoyed my last 8 months at Essensuals, working within Essensuals Beauty salon, but as clients who popped their emails down on their record forms will know I've recently left. (So yes I have alot of updating re my website to be doing!!!) I will let you all know when I've sorted myself out at my new premises, only a short walk from h&m and m&s in Bournemouth town centre. Any my phone number will still be 01202 553400. I will be looking for a couple of self employed personel to join me in my venture, a nail technician to rent a desk, a therapist to rent a beauty room and hair stylists to rent hair chairs- yes, it's quite a move I'm going for!!!

Just to keep you in the know I've been working at a couple of events recently!

The 1st was last week, a very early 7am start for the Elite model search photoshoot day. This was at the very 'wow' Holborn studios, large white rooms and piccies of celeb clients on every wall! Mc Fly was in the studio next to us and Hannah Waterman upstairs. The hair was sorted by Toni&Guy and the look was very natural, then very glam to give the newbie models a couple of different images to kickstart their careers!
Then this week was early, but not so bad at a lush home on the Kings Road for a Daniel Sandler QVC promotional video shoot. Myself and Chris (Quar from the DS team) had to help get 4 models camera ready for a piece that was shot to be used in the run up to Daniel appearing on QVC with his fantastic range. The studio was home of Jonathan Malone, hairdresser to the stars (Naomi C and Kelly Brook and lots of Cosmo covers were on the walls!) and a v beautiful home it was. Defo got some inspiration for my new lil salon!

It’s been a while! But so much has been happening!
Last Thursday I travelled up to Warren House in Kingston for a Lady Taveners lunch event with the Daniel team! Myself, Christine Quar and Claire Logue had the pleasure of glamming up the already very glamorous Ladies and selling Daniel Sandler Cosmetics to raise money for their projects.
My hectic weekend involved moving house, clients at Essensuals, photographic studio work and making up Lauren for her big day! Lauren is a wedding planner (check out www.florenceblue.co.uk) and I cannot wait for a pic!
Tuesday morning was an early one, up to London to assist Daniel with another Boots.com makeup video. All about bronzing face makeup for a natural glow and a bit of the fake tan application! Then, as Daniel is super amazing at doing things in one take, we finished early and I went to big Topshop. I couldn’t resist the Wah Nails nail bar so got my nails done. Nail Tech Chantel was great and my nails are a lush grey with pink lip kiss marks on my thumbs! I so have to try it myself and get those pens at Essensuals Beauty!
Then this morning brightened up quickly with a visit from photographer Kim to Essensuals Beauty. Fresh faced model in tow, I got to be part of one of the most exciting shoots ever, and prepped the model for an underwater fashion shoot. Pic to be posted soon! Very 80’s inspired, I just had to go for bold block colours on the eyes as the shapes shot underwater were very unique. I finished my beauty page for Listed magazine with Festival Glamour beauty tips and perfect plaits and then picked up a copy of the June edition my way home!

Football Fusion Photo Shoot

Last minute photoshoot yesterday for an forthcoming Bournemouth event Football Fusion. A six a side footie competition and music festival happening this summer!

The pics should be back from Samantha Davis soon as the images are going to be used on a billboard in the town centre!!!! I will also be putting up a few pics from the Rownhams photoshoot I did in February as I've just seen the 'add pic' icon on this blog!

And add videos! Which I'm working on and they are coming soon! I really promise by May!!!
