Basingstoke College of Technology Student Demo and Colour Trophy Entry...

Another exciting week and we are only half way through...

Tuesday saw another early start and a drive up to Basingstoke College of Technology for a Makeup Demonstration for the BTEC Nat Dip Students to inspire them for their annual competition in a couple of weeks. They will have an hour to complete a full makeup look themed 'Fantasty' for one category or 'Movie Stars' for another. I chose to recreate actress Anne Hathaways look for the new Tim Burton film Alice in Wonderland! (as this is both Fantasy and Movies and wouldn't take very long!) I used the following...

Dermalogicas Redness Relief moisturiser mixed with Active Moist moisturiser as my young fair blonde model had a slight pink to her skin, this paled her up in a way.
Daniel Sandler Retexturing Face Primer to smooth pores and take away shine
Daniel Sandler Perfect Canvas shade 01- nice and pale!
Daniel Sandler Hide it Eye Concealer 01
Daniel Sandler Blotting Powder- completely colour free
Daniel Sandler Mineral Matte Blush in Natural Beauty- under cheek bones to contour then no other colour blusher
Daniel Sandler Pink Bisque Matte Shadow all over eyes from the base of the lashes up to the brows, Tornado in the socket and no eyeliner
Daniel Sandler Silver Eye Delight over the lid and Ice under the brows (that were Matte Shadow Dark Brown!)
Jumbo Jet Black Mascara bottom and top lashes and Mister Mascara lashes, the ones with gems on that Daniel gave me at Instyle, ta muchly, they looked amazing on this model.
Then Daniel Sandler Micro Berry lipstick with red glitter pressed over the top for a twist on how the original image looked!

Yesterday was a late one at Essensuals Bournemouth helping the stylists and colour techs with their entries for the L'Oreal Colour Competition. Deadline is a few days, both the models looked wkd but I'm not going to spill the beans on the looks but credits to the whole team as styling, models and photography was great...

And I think Listed magazine is out now! Covering Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch for one edition and Winchester, Southampton and Fareham for another. I wrote the Hair, Health and Beauty page and haven't seen it yet!!!! and I have to finish Aprils content by the 1st of March!!!

More news coming when I've got it...Bye! xx

Bridal Photoshoot

Heya Guys!

It's been a really long, exhausting day today! But so much fun all the same...

It started at Rownhams House in Southampton at 8am! Rownhams is a very large country house owner by Roger and Penny and they have just converted The Old Coach House to a new wedding venue! This was the perfect opportunity to create a photoshoot with a bridal theme. I worked with Claire Alker- freelance hairstylist, Gorgeous Gowns of Romsey-for dresses, 2 models-Sam and Maria and 2 photographers-Samantha Davis and Nigel Bailey. Big thanks to everyone for making the day such a success. I cannot wait to see the final pictures!

The models were shivering and turning blue with the cold February rain! The Gorgeous Gown ladies suffered pin stabs when pinning the girls up! Claire was keeping a clear head and had fantastic biro scribbles of hair ideas and assistants were rushing around the whole time, it was such a grey day we were trying to keep with as much daylight as possible, (but just about wrapped it up at 6pm!) I've got a good feeling about this one...keep watching for images updated to my website and I'm editing my video tutorials too so not much longer now!
